Finished Section 14 - Sort of!

Today I riveted the stub spar assembly then began to countersink the W-1212 hinge assembly. One is to countersink two holes on one side in one of the hinge brackets and then do the same by countersinking two holes on one side of the other hinge bracket. What I did was countersink the 2 holes in the left hinge bracket and then instead of grabbing the other hinge bracket, I flipped it over and countersunk the same holes on the other side of the same bracket. Duh!!! Learned to read, then re-read and then re-re-reread the instructions!!! Immediately noticed the mistake and called Van's to order one more bracket. About $7.00. Will be coming in the next couple of days. The shipping cost will be more than the part cost. Riveted the other hinge bracket with no problems. On the hinge bracket, the flush rivet is to be flush with the surface of the bracket, but as hard as I tried, it is a couple of mils above the bracket surface. Further down the line we will have to see if there is an interference problem here. May need to shave the shop head of the rivet if an interference arises. Riveted the remainder of the left and right rear spar assemblies without issue.
